Tasting Notes
The original Belgian strong ale, and still the benchmark. Duvel pours a brilliant pale gold with a massive, persistent head, then delivers citrus, apple, honey, and subtle spice on the palate. Three months of bottle conditioning give it champagne-like carbonation and a silky, effervescent finish. At 8.5% ABV, it's deceivingly light on the palate for something this strong.
